Last Week in Halifax

Yup, it's true! I'm officially done Mornings on 101.3 The BOUNCE & I'm in full vacation mode! I'm poolside loungin' at my parent's condo until I move back to Ontario next week! For the past 7 days while I was still in the city, I had to hit up all my fave spots. Let me tell you; many of those places involve FOOD ... duh. I'm currently so. over. eating. that even if someone plopped 10 gourmet donuts in front of me- I wouldn't even touch one. Ok well that's dramatic- I'd probably attempt to eat one and then cry out in pain. But for reals, Halifax may be a small city, but it's full of delicious restaurants, bakeries, cute shops & bars. I'm truly going to miss this place.

If you ever have the chance to visit Halifax OR if you're new to this wonderful place,  then here are my fave spots <3

Everything at Ristorante aMano in Bishop's Landing is perfection. Literally, I've never had a bad meal. The gnocchi is top notch also BTW.

This is the Dolce e Fumoso pizza from Piatto Pizzeria! K there's honey drizzled on top... with prosciutto, chill flakes, cheese... literally the best pizza I've ever eaten. I will be eating this pizza straight from the box (yes they do pick-up) on the floor of my empty apartment next week... sounds slightly depressing but I can't WAIT !!!!

Feel like going for a walk? Need to clear your mind? The Halifax Public Gardens is lovely. The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and it's a really nice place to read a good book, jus sayin'.

Pete's Fine Foods is right off of of Spring Garden and it's adorable. You can get the BEST salads, sandwiches, sweets, produce and of course: SMOOTHIES. The smoothies are so delicious and I have a horrible (or wonderful) habit of getting a post-workout-smoothie. Cherry Bomb ;)

Yes, this is the best english-muffin-egg-sandwich you will ever consume. It's from the The Coastal Cafe and do NOT feel tempted to have a greens with it. You must pair this sammy with their delicious home fries. The place is ALWAYS busy but trust me, it's worth the wait!

My fave workout is reformer pilates. It's a full body workout (I've seriously seen positive changes in my body after 2 months) and it's so ZEN. If you're looking for a solid workout (with a fun group too), go see Christy at Studio in Essence!

I will miss Sweet Pea Boutique the most out of everything in Halifax. Other than my friends of course hahaha! The owner Joey is a LOVELY human being and she's the dress QUEEN! This store is SO adorable and has any type of dress you could ever want: one for downtown, a wedding, a graduation, work... I could go on & on. Sweet Pea now has an online store & you better believe I'll be her #1 customer on there. Support local & go see Joey... the prices are great & she has any dress you could ever want!!!!!

Yep, these are ricotta pancakes with bacon and eggs. Yes, this is one of the best brunch spots in the city: Edna.

For anyone who knows me, you know that I have a bit of an issue with sweets. Ok a HUGE issue with sweets. I can't say no. Not. Possible.  Layers on Barrington Street not only has DELICIOUS cakes and cupcakes- but they are the most creative with flavours & styles! The Instagram is to-DIE-for! You NEED to try their vanilla bean strawberry cake as seen above... it was heaven... I wonder if I have time to grab a few cupcakes before I move out of my apartment...

When your haircuts turn into hangouts, you know you've found the right spot. Nathan & Sarah at Iron Salon are not only the coolest/funniest/down-to-earth humans- but they are hair gods. They know how to make you look FLAWLESS and feel like a million bucks. I will be checking flights so that I can fly back to Hali for haircuts. You think that's crazy, but it'll be happening.
