Forbidden Food

Helloooo! It's been awhile! So just to let everyone know... I am ALIVE. The surgery went splendidly, and although the few days after were rough I seem to be doing well now... besides the fact that my jaw is closed shut... but hey, there are worse things right? Let me just say, for the record, I was all, "Yaaaaa liquid diet, lose 20 pounds WOO" pre surgery. Now I'm all, "Holy crap I don't care about my weight anymore MOM GIVE ME FOOD". So, to conclude,  liquid diets are not as pleasant as they may seem. I'm pretty sure I've tried every smoothie recipe + soup there is known to man. It's painful. IF YOU HAVE AN AMAZING SMOOTHIE RECIPE... PLEASE, I BEG, PLEASE, email me! or tweet me! or comment on this blog! Help a sista out!

MOVING ALONG, since I'm so so obsessed with food now that I can't eat it... I thought I'd share a fabulousss flatbread recipe with you. I'm SO obsessed with goat cheese lately too. Ok so here's the deal: I brush the flatbread (I use Naan bread as well) with evoo (extra virgin olive oil), then add some sliced tomatoes, goat cheese + basil and we're good to go into the oven. The recipe below cuts out the tomatoes & adds carmelized onions. Now you're talkin'. Healthy, light & yumyum, Enjoy:))

I've decided to post new entries to my blog on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. Ya know, to help Monday go by faster, pump ya up on hump day and get you ramped up for TGIF. I might post more often... we'll see.

I first came across this photo on my friend Michelle's artistic blog (it's the coolest). First off, I love ADELE (don't we all). I thought this quote was HILARIOUS. I personally do enjoy to work out, but just her point about loving food & being a singer: genius.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry that I'll lose weight due to my surgery, BUT,  rachy loves her food. If I want a brownie, then good lawwwd give me the gawd-damn brownie. Life is far too short to deprive yourself. But that's just my humble opinion.

Alright dears, I'm off to bed (us post-op patients get tired so easily, it's pathetic).  I leave you with my new fave country summer song... I dare you to NOT rock out or sing along.

xo Rach
